Elliott's Twilight in Space

"Never laughed this hard in a long time, better stop now before I start crying..."

Lately I've been mulling a lot of things within myself, and all that is somehow supplemented by my countless sitting hours in bed watching YouTube. I've more or less stopped dreaming - or at least remembering - the kind of dreams that are meaningful, or the ones that convince you somewhat that they're not utterly meaningless.

So, summing up my wakeful life's most recent consumption history, I found: Dreams reveal the underlying thought; thoughts become things; every little or big thing you see in this physical world is the outcome of someone's thought; things attract more things and, thus l, thoughts...

I woke up from a dream that had in it
multiple entities I love. Let's shelve the analysis for a while, here's what I saw in the dream:

I'm playing a space video game. The old kind, the kind you can easily relate to the classic Galaxian or Galaga from the Nintendo era. And suddenly I'm taking up this exam that I'm finding tough, but kind of celebrating it; my stress levels are zero.

I don't know whether it was before or after this that I saw our beloved dog Brownie in the living area of my place. No idea whether he's sick or not, he's draped in a bedsheet or a piece of cloth; only his head is put. He's refusing to eat. I ask my mother if he has had his meal. She denies. It's been quite late for that meal, I figure intuitively. I say we feed him potatoes, quite confident that he would gladly accept the carbs.

Back to this open room-like confinement aglow with yellow light in the middle of space. It's kind of a space classroom. I'm done with as much as I could answer from the question paper. Now I hear Elliott Smith - yes, in space. I hum, I sing, I begin to write random stuff on the answer sheet... The song Twilight is playing. It's depth of the dark and the end of the world we're at and there's Twilight by Mr Smith playing.

The song catches me off guard, leading me to a complete disconnect from the event. So much that I'm not even there, neither is my desk. It's been moved out of the queue because I'm gone.

But I must finish my exam so I return. I've started talking to others the normal way. The guy in front of me is not only disturbed but rather embarrassed of my behaviour. The guy at the back, however, is keeping a welcoming face and is busy putting my desk back in order - he's also finding the whole Twilight playing here kind of amusing perhaps.

I revise me answer sheet to make sure I'm done with the paper and nothing more I could do is left unattempted. Finally I'm done. I sing, I laugh - loudly. The guy at the front isn't liking it at all. He also looks over his shoulder to pass a last warning stare. But I don't care.

I get out of the hall. There's a dark passage. The sound is even louder here. "Better stop now before I start crying..." And I strike my back against the wall to the right and burst out crying. But it's so good.

End of dream... I think.

Now, analysis: Even though I'm nearing 30, a point where a lot is required of me, I am quite aware of what I enjoy and what I've always enjoyed. Back and forth, I am stepping forward to engage myself in the world outside, and the world inside, thankfully, is not getting neglected. My ears for the artists I've always loved are covered in dust and yet intact. And inside, though I mostly feel I'm older than I existentially am, I am 10 or 11 tops - I just get convinced I'm not.

My life is in my hands whether I remember or forget. And the expiry date is always at the back of my head. Things we enjoy perhaps help us figure out what we want to do, where we want to be.

Space travel much? :D

Nothing But Togetherness

Nothing but togetherness
Sucks them last breaths
Takes control of now and then
Signifies the falls
Makes you feel blessed

Shape of life is strange
Ever-changing sturdiness
Delicate but merciless
Patting one and all
Keeping bodies possessed

That bitter water, sweet lime juice
Dry not, wait! Moment's slipping
Hearts are always sipping
Nothing but togetherness

Social stuff: Part 1

Socially, problem with marks of people’s achievements is that you can’t talk back to an artist through the product of his art work. Even though initially the whole idea of creating art is to communicate. You can’t pause your video player at your favourite shot, to take some time out to call the production team involved in the project to say, “Damm! You guys just made me cry (for real)”. Socially, you’re just a fan. Mentally you might be a little more or less but the whole point is- society is about delivering- what you don’t deliver, doesn’t even exist.

Significance is a big deal. You did some good while hiding- brings joy to yourself. But ‘social joy’ is a different thing. Sometimes we own nothing joyful or praiseworthy (on a very individual level) still some people get to serve the food better than they can cook. Another chef cries at home thinking why he didn’t take that “extra social” shot to not only get some money, but a whole big lot of credits in the areas of joy (personal and social!), happiness and the areas of general (pointless but great!) celebrations of life.

Stiffness to do right all life long and grow white hair for a cause is one thing. Courage to do small wrongs knowingly to bring yourself That Extra Piece of Joy is another. Life is a cycle, no doubts. I say it’s a ****in Not So Steady Sine Wave!

Emptiness is caused by lack of or excess of deliverance. “OMG I am not known.” “OMG I can’t get lost.” “OMG am I changing with or without someone.” “OMG am I too off the line or too straight on the line?” Confusion barely needs an excuse. “OMG am I saying OMG?” Depression is seeded in us excessively. To sterilize a certain thoughts or parts of mind is an art. Art is to communicate. Artwork that makes one known with a blast makes regular great people harder to communicate back. Life is a cycle. A loop of small uncertain things occurring in different colours and shapes.

A moment is..

Time lapses like hell. Days ultimately come out to be nothing more than tiny numbers in a calender. Time is a joke. Sometimes a clock in a cell phone runs just too slow, sitting in a park, talking, listening, going back and forth in time. It's like ten minutes let us play with ten years of our lives. You can have a lifetime of speed in five seconds. Lifetime- is beyond measurements if you really live. Five second lifetime is enough then. Satisfaction, fractions of moments, reactions we manage like kids in a hurry, blurry vision of the past and the future, first things and last things, beginnings, ends, prayers, layers of knowing- everything formulates time and happiness. That's when you live. Because otherwise years are as worthless as bored seconds of a dead day. Emotions are like drugs I guess. Being low is as tasteful as being high. Talking to everyone, self talking, listening to everyone, ultimately listening to only self- are mere tries to cheat with time. We're all kids. We're all cheaters. If you're not, better try being one today and tell me later if the day goes any longer.

You brake somewhere and ask somebody, "What's the time?" You don't have a phone or a watch or a clock or even the digital thing in the dead dashboard of your car. Why do you need to know what time is it if the time is ready to escape you anyways? Reach there on time, come home on time, leave a friend on time so you guys don't get in trouble, eat on time, sleep on time because the world gets going at 10, take things from someone on time, tell somebody something on time, plan things in time, think about time in time. Clocks never escape us. Neither can we evade measurements. Numbers are everywhere. But drama- is timeless! A quick rough dead metaphor.

Moments and seconds are different. Seconds can't measure moments. A real moment can't be measured at all. A moment is-

when nothing else matters.

"No past, no future, no problems.. Just the moment"

Life- Too abstract to measure..

Who is it living at the very core? The moody one. A figure who others use to observe and analyze who we are from. These figures we make ourselves a part of. Each day, each second is a drama. What is that abstract feeling, out of which all the feelings are inherited and polished into specific and rigid definitions? Do we feel those simple feelings purely at all? Isn't the taste of something the best conclusion our mind can reach by the efforts of senses.. ? Aren't we extending that basic figure into our own versions?

What if the mirror isn't right? What if we go blind to those figures? Being just fine physically. Would we see totally different then? Maybe a different kind of image, painted by colours we don't know yet. How will you look right now if you were made of feelings than a face made of skin? Will I ever be able to guess your look if you just teleport yourself out of physics? Would I still see you? Or would you see yourself in the mirror then? Would you believe it then? Or, would you still not let anyone see the inner image, if you dont have the basic lines anymore?

I am a figure. A setup of colours. A glow within borders. A thought floating like a halo, just hidden behind illusions of mass and gravity. Can you see me, how I am changing shape and colour right now? Can we still talk? Do we have to talk? I am not my face, or my name, or religion, or my skin- I am a fume flying back and forth and so are you.

Why so serious?

Just shut up with your that look Joker..
I am tryin' to have a moment here..

Woo.. A moment? Stop with that philosophical bullshit!
Hey.. Wanna know how I got these scars?
No!! But your scars are just outside!!
Who gives a shit about your face anyways..

I do.. I use white boot polish for fairness each day..
Yeah right! You know.. I am scared..
Hoooo.. So.. Finally! Batman's scared..!
No, its not that you fool.. Listen..
Everybody knows me by my image..
What if I dont have a suit anymore..
The Batman will go naked!!
..No one's gonna recognize me anywhere..
I 'll be out of comics, cartoon shows..
My hollywood career too would be ruined to ashes.. !

Whoa.. Never thought that way..
But guess what- a new Batman is just born..
A saint Batman!
AAAArrrrggghhhh!!!
Hehehehehkhhh!! Now wanna know how I got these scars?!
Whatever!! #$@^#!!

Life is just too short to live with that good man certainty.. Yes, settling into a pillar to hold responsibilities is a good thing. But getting lost in physics forever is a wastage of that abstractness. What if for a second- life is seen outside of living at a place, studying in a college or working somewhere? A fine balance between dreams and reality is, of course, something to be understood. Life is too short for living outside the line as well.. But how would you paint yourself right now if we can't go by the mirror or any kind of replication? Which colour are you made of right now? What's your shape? And gesture? Can you see yourself? Would you still let others see you?

Life: A video game

Best thing about living is the thing that you have everything in full detail. What you see has no resolution troubles. Blurriness can be there, but that's your character, right?! Simply, the best thing about living all the possibilities of clocks and calenders is that you can always try options and never get sick of it. There's no glitch. You go to a corner of your veranda and by a flick you're on the top of your roof- never happens! Can any game ever be that realistic as much as life itself? Isn't it fun to feel like a character and maintain your profile than to feel too real and too messed up..?!

I have tried living this many a times. Yes, from now on, I am not a person; I am my avatar! I am the supreme being that handles my dummy. But when I speak, its only through my dummy- that's the game!

So what should my avatar wear today?! :)

Sometimes, I guess, giving up the wish to capture or to replicate or trace things could get you the most beautiful feeling. Just takes a bit of extra forcing sometimes to convince yourself- "Do not take that photograph, just feel it!". Sharing, of course, is a good thing. But what if rather than showing a photograph to a friend with you in it, swimming, or pretending to be swimming, you could bring your that friend to the river?!

And if that is situation #5 of stage #2, then I don't mind trying to find ways. Real is so difficult- agreed. But what if the real is the fun part? Why do we play games anyway- to have plain fun!! What's the most awesome feature of characters in our game? I guess its the impossibility to print screen what one sees at a time. So all you can do is get an approximate picture of what you see but to have more realism out of the game you just bought or downloaded or just realized you need to bring other avatars to where you stand to show them what you see, to make them hear what you hear- and the sound effects are never same.

We are in a game that has the full potential to never repeat a thing! What would you do to call others?

Would you stay there and scream? Or reach out to them and come back running? Well, its your dummy, handle it yourself! ;)

Respawning is not allowed! But that doesn't mean you can't feel like you just respawned!

So what's your dummy up to? Mine just finished typing and is going to hunt for food..

To be continued..
